Megan Park

Every garment with a Megan Park label has been created by hand. The prints are created using hand-carved wooden blocks which are then applied to the fabric by hand, relying on the trained eye of the printer to keep up a steady, seamless pattern. The dyes are produced by one man who mixes the colours from memory, rather than scientific notes, to ensure that even the colour of your garment is unique. Glass beads are stitched on one by one. Megan Park only uses Japanese glass beads which are the most superior quality available, and very unlikely to crack or smash. Even the sequins are applied one by one - a painstaking process.

Born in Australia, Megan Park first worked as a textile designer in Melbourne. Ten years ago she moved to London, and began designing textiles for a well-respected agency whose clients included Givenchy, Dries van Noten and Kenzo. Five years ago she launched her own eponymous collection of exquisite beaded and embellished evening bags and scarves which met instant success. Capitalising on this success, Megan then launched her first womenswear collection in 1999. Every garment has been created by hand and prints are created using hand-carved wooden blocks. All the embroidery, glass beads and sequins are applied by hand. Her inspiration comes from all over the world: Parisian flea markets, street vendors in Hong Kong, markdets in Old Delhi, as well as London's museums. Then in 2002, Megan launched her home collection comprised of quilts, pillows, cushions and throws with her unique embellishment signature.
