Gaye Straza spent her youth vacationing in Hawaii and always wanted to capture the island's spirit and smells in a fragrance. From this desire she developed Kai, a perfume which was originally only sold in her upscale boutique in Malibu, California. After selling her boutique in 1999, there was still a demand for Kai, and Straza continued to sell the fragrance as a separate company. The philosophy behind Kai focuses on beauty that lives in the simplest and purest of things. Fulfilling this idea, Kai is a light scent that contains exotic and natural essences offered in a full line of perfume and body products.
